Author: Perceptor of the Council
Subject: All in a day's work.

Perceptor sighed warily. After several hours, he had managed to see to several crisis at one time. He leaned heavily against the wall of the small passage that connected his lab to the Main Hall of the Council building, and slowly sunk his weight onto the floor. He felt incredibly stressed, but at the same time...he felt a sort of elation. He had managed his time very well, despite doing absolutely everything on his own. He stared up at the walls of the passage. They were covered in ornamental images of great Cybertronians. Leaders. Scientists. Warriors.

His eyes traveled farther up the walls, recognizing several old friends, new and old. Springer. Arcee. Rhynox. Depth Charge. Prime. All of them...side by side, as if time had never touched their lives. And as his eyes wondered, so too did his mind...

The other Councilors. He constantly worried about their well-being, and this time had been no different. Prowl and NOVA had been sent to retrieve Windshear from LEGOcouncil, and much to his dismay, he had heard nothing more from them since their departure. Spectre and Orbital had taken leave to Rugby, along with Veridian’s newest operative, Waspinator. From Spectre, he had heard nothing. From Orbital...he had heard some rather disturbing news.

Orbital had called in right in the middle of his attempts to stabilize Slashclaw. The transmission had been broken, but Perceptor had managed to get the gist of it. A strange silent being had emerged from no where, and at once attacked an Autobot fighting another being, which seemed to be a Decepticon, outside Rugby. What Orbital was doing outside Rugby was beyond Perceptor, but it didn’t matter that much. At least he was doing something useful. Perceptor wondered in the back of his mind about the identity of the Autobot and his assailant, but he dismissed it. Orbital would fill him in when he got back.

Veridian and Dark Star, a strange Decepticon who had shown up at the Council, had traveled to the NOVA Beacon outside of Rugby to retrieve FawnDoo...and take him to Azdak at Ia. He marveled at the way his Council had been divided up so easily...all in pursuit of one man...

He thought back to Batbot’s awakening. Batbot had practically gone into shock when Azdak had filled him in on FawnDoo’s past...the recovering Batbot had remained silent for a small while after the news, and Perceptor had worried about his well-being. Perhaps they had broken the news to him too early...or to roughly...but in the end, Batbot had turned out fine, and traveled with Azdak to Ia to await FawnDoo’s arrival.

Once they had all left, he had in turn been left with two...unique characters. He chuckled to himself at the thought of this. Things had been rather exciting for him. True, he had managed to get Slashclaw stable again, and he even expected him to return to consciousness soon. No, it wasn’t Slashclaw he found amusing, but rather the Talamac being who had busted into the Council slinging threats of killing them all...and had been in turn captured by a mixture of Perceptor’s bad temper and Orbital’s future technology. For quite some time, Talamac had made a nice addition to the lab’s decor during the extent of his stay hanging above their heads, unable to move.

Now however, Talamac was no more. He had reverted to what he referred to as “Chimpimus Prime”. Again, Perceptor chuckled. But, a person’s name meant nothing about the person inside, this much he knew. Chimpimus finally had Perceptor convinced he was no danger, and Perceptor had released him. It didn’t really matter anyway. Perceptor still had his weapons hidden away. Any wrong moves, and the Lab would instantly grab him up again.

And still, Perceptor worried...

He blinked his optics.

The walls, covered with the mementos of the past, seemed to stare back at him.

He smiled, and stood.

He bowed to the silent men and women before him.

Praise Primus. My heart is at peace today.

The olden Autobot scientist turned, and made his way back to his lab. There was still work to be done. And not much time to do it.
