Author: Nightshade and Cliffjumper
Subject: What goes in, must come out

Netwave had successfully infiltrated the Cybertronian Council building, and had successfully taken those gathered inside by complete surprise. Netwave was surely feeling overtly fond of herself and her skills. Netwave had also not moved far away from the hidden passageway before she uncloaked herself.

And that proved to be Netwave's undoing.

Her attention was solely focused on distracting those who were confronting her now, and she was not watching her back. Unluckily for her, Nightshade was.

As he and Cliffjumper had been making their way down the steps to the main floor of the Council building, Nightshade's keen hearing had picked up the sound of Netwave's approach before she had blocked the light still streaming from the door. She had managed to catch the door before it latched, which only would have taken another moment. Orbital had set the door up to close slower, so as not to make a sound that would emenate throughout the room below, should there be any guests gathered.

Orbital and Perceptor, on NOVA's request, had also installed a few hidden compartment's along the length of the corridor, should the need to hide ever come along. And it was in one of these very compartments the two Operatives had hidden themselves in as Netwave, Super Spy (TM), made her unsuspecting way past them.

Now, however, Nightshade and Cliffjumper were very close by. While Cliffjumper, however, remained closer to the passage, Nightshade had moved closer, and now stood directly behind her. He moved his mouth very near to her ear...

And he whispered.

The reason, dear, you cannot find those you sought to follow is simple.

At his voice, she jumped with a near shriek of surprise, and started to spin around angrily towards him. He grabbed her bodily by the shoulders, and pulled her towards him. He still spoke close to her ear.

Choose your path more carefully next time, lass. Around here, we tread lightly.

He glanced over his shoulder towards his companion. Cliffjumper. It's safe for Decado to enter, now. Let him know, will you?

The large Maximal nodded, and spoke quietly into a wrist-bound communicator.

You look rather busy, Prowl. I believe the monkey might could use a tad bit of help, as he seems to be in a rather nasty predicament of his own. I believe I can handle this wee one quite nicely on my own, yes? She seems to be crowding you all, taking up valuable space. Shall I move her towards the uh...brig, if you would?

Prowl glanced towards the same doorway he had entered through not long before himself, although with everything that had happened recently, he felt as if it were ages ago. As Decado entered, Prowl looked back at Nightshade. Do as you wish with her. She's of no use or concern to us right now, and you are both far too late to do what you were summoned for.

With that, Prowl turned Alex by the shoulder, and led him to Slashclaw's table. Cliffjumper was now standing with Alex, no doubt listening to the happenings at the Senate.

Nightshade smirked. He still held Netwave in front of him, and had no intention of letting go. You and I have a bit of talking to do, girl, and I do suggest you listen. You are not welcome here, you have never been welcome here, and you will never be welcome here so long as you may live. We've had one of your AOD kind come digging around in here already as I understand it, and you know what they say about too much of a bad thing. Bad rubbish and all that yadda yadda.

As he talked, he pushed her across the room, and out into the hallway. What are you going to do with me?

Never you mind that yet, lass. You've no reason to fear me, so long as you're mindful of the fact I could easily dispatch your spark into the streams of forever should you cross me. Do as I say, and you'll get out of here alive. And don't try anything, for I promise it won't work.

Netwave found herself believing this Operative. She kept her mouth shut, and let him lead her deeper into the building, towards a stronger holding cell away from the others...
