As a reminder, Publish 20 changes a number of things about player vendors. You can read about those changes here in the “General Testing” section of our Update Center.

As Publish 20 is activated on your shard, all player-vendors will be gone (including their additional equipment and clothing), but their owners will be given their inventory and gold. Here’s how you’ll be able to collect your vendor’s items:

  • All gold held by player-vendors will be converted into a bank check that will appear in the owner’s bank box.
  • An additional check for 1300 gold pieces will also appear in the owner’s bank box. (One such check will appear for each vendor the player owns.)
  • The vended-inventory will be removed from the vendor and become collectible by the owner.
  • If the vendor is in a house, all of the vended inventory will be stored in a temporary “vendor crate.” The original owner will be able to collect any items remaining in the vendor’s inventory, by using a context-sensitive menu option on the house sign.

    • The vendor-owner will have 10 days to claim that gold and inventory from the virtual “vendor crate.”

  • If the vendor is not in a house (such as when a Game Master is requested to remove one from a house), its inventory will be appear in a container at that same location. That container will be accessible by any passers-by.
  • Long ago, and for only a short time, vendors could be re-deeded. These vendors-returned-to-deed-form will also be converted, regardless of location (backpack, bank box, locked down within a house, etc.).

    • The deed itself will not disappear, and players may continue t own or trade these rare items.
    • If the deed is locked down or secured in a house, the inventory of the vendor in the deed becomes claimable via the house sign.
    • If the deed is in a player's bank box or backpack, the contents of the vendor in the deed are placed into the player's backpack (if it will fit, otherwise it goes into the player's bank box).
