The following was found over at UO Stratics, posted under General News by Joshua Rowan (Project Manager, UO Stratics):
As I was working on my own Thank You to everyone at Origin, I came across a post in the UXO Stratics Forums written by a player, CmdrFalcon. Since he says it so eloquently already, I thought it might be better just to share his words with all of you here...
To the Ultima Online & Ultima X Odyssey Devs and everyone at Origin

The recent news about Origin has been very depressing. Origin is more than a development house. It is more than a franchise creator. It is more than a MMORPG cash cow. What it is and has always been is a group of talented and creative people who love games.

The Ultima and Wing Commander series in particular are shining examples of your ability to create worlds. They were fun games sure, but they went beyond that. They had a real depth to them - engaging storylines with complex moral dilemmas isn’t something you normally find in a computer game. Games that can really make you think and feel - those are the ones that people talk about decades later. That is the legacy that you have created.

As I understand, tomorrow the doors of Origin will close forever. For those of you that make the move to California to continue working on UXO or UO we are grateful. For those who can’t or decide not to, our thoughts are with you and we wish you all the success in whatever you decide to do. You will be missed.

Thank you Origin for sharing your Worlds with us.
For those of you that have been touched by the work done at Origin over the years, over the last TWENTY YEARS, I would ask that you head to the Thread on our Forums and express your appreciation as well...
