Issues with Grandfathered Vendors

The following was posted by Cynthe (UO's Community Manager), on the Stratics UO Latest Updates Board, in response to a players query about vendors not grandfathering correctly:

I have a large vendor house on Catskills that has 30+ vendors. It is actually a keep on ice island(Trammel) that has been there since housing opened way back when. The vendors are all 6+ months old, some as much as 18 months.

Today, one of my vendors, with 100 earth days remaining just "poofed". The GM's checked and said that "Yes, the vendor did have that many days on it." But, had no explaination of why it disappeared.

The GM also stated that the keep was not reporting any of the vendors as "grandfathered" and that vendor items were counting as "lock-downs."

The GM said that he was submitting a "bug-report" but that we needed to let anyone else with large vendor properties know that the issue does exist but is not widely being acknowledged.

Hmmm, I guess that explains why every time I try to put something in a secure container, "that would exceed the lock-down limit of the house."

I know we've seen some issues with grandfathered vendors not working exactly right, but I'm not sure if we've been able to reproduce them or not. I'd ask you to send in a bug report to uobugs@uo.com, but if the GM submitted a bug report, those go straight to the QA and dev groups, so it sounds like it won't be necessary.

If it happens again, though, and you - or anyone else - have any more info on how it happened, feel free to send it to us at uobugs@uo.com with any new info.
