After last-minute uniform substitutions (thanks to Jamieson Oak), we departed for Malas at about umm .. well let's just say it *was* before midnight..with a complement of eight. To our surprise we emerged from the team bus, not at the official stadium, but at an unknown house in Malas! Syn ushered us inside..revealing a private bagball pitch...!

Team captains were duly elected and Astron nobly volunteered to act as line referee, a very good thing as it turned out, as the other referee (me) always seemed to be looking somewhere else when a goal was in the offing!

After a hotly contested first half, the score stood at 2-all (I think :-S). Yaka bid us good night and Astron assumed the orange mantle in her place. We then adjourned to the "official" stadium and attracted a solitary bemused onlooker (mayhap he believed me when I told him it was ballroom dancing practice hehe)

The Red team finally figured out that the referee did not seem to notice if the rules were erm.. bent now and then, and moved the ball up the field at an astonishing speed, scoring goal after goal! until Lord Pietro admitted that well, yes, *cough*, due to his immense strength, actually he *could* carry the ball... and was it a problem? With the Malas sunlight glistening on his huge muscles, no-one (least of all the ref) seemed inclined to argue with him, so he was just told he was very, very bad indeed and should not do it again (thanks Syn *winks*).

Victory was eventually claimed by the Red team with a score of 6, with Orange just missing out on 5. Well played everyone (don't know that I can say the same for my refereeing skills tho hehe).

So, if you're looking for something a bit different to do, or you were *going* to come but missed out, or you'd like to play again, the next match will probably be on a weekend so stay tuned - and remember, ignorance of the rules is the *only* defence ;-)

Oh, and in future, Bagballs will weigh AT LEAST 1000 stone *glares at Lord Pietro* and no Horrific Beasts will be allowed on the pitch *glares at someone else*.
