Have you missed out on parts of the current scenario?
Feel like getting back at the ants that spoiled your picnics this summer?
Well, it’s not too late! This scenario has got everything for everyone—or at least something for most.
Here is what’s happened so far:
In week 1, Britannia witnessed the entrance of a new breed of inhabitants, as the ant-like Solen workers and warriors set themselves up in their new homes. Red Solen appeared in Trammel, while black Solen appeared in Felucca. Those who encountered these emerging creatures learned a new meaning for the phrase “spitting mad” when they encountered the Solens’ acid attack!
Those who survived their encounters, however, came away with the mysterious new zoogi fungus and bracelets for their troubles, which came as an interesting surprise to some, even if the purposes of these new items weren’t obvious at first glance.
During week 2, it began to be evident how wide-spread these creatures were, as their holes began to appear all around the Britannian surface, with many connected to the Solen lair.
Desperately seeking to learn more about these Solen, concerned citizens, called Naturalists, headed toward the libraries of Britannia looking for information. Some of these Naturalists began offering – and are still offering - rewards to enlist the help of adventurers to gather data!
But citizens of Britannia were to find that the Naturalists weren’t the only ones who could offer them something they wanted. Now that the first levels of the Solen tunnels were accessible from the ground, some of the Solen Queens began to offer their own rewards in return for the completion of various quests. It was with the discovery of these quest rewards that the purposes of the zoogi at last became clear – as people learned that translocation powder, which is made from the zoogi fungus, can be used to activate the special properties of the quest rewards.
Several rewards for these Solen Quests were reported, including a Bag of Sending, which supposedly allows items to be sent to a character’s bank box, a Crystal Ball of Pet Summoning, which has been said to allow tamers to summon pets to their location, and Bracelets of Binding, which are rumored to allow players to teleport to another player’s location.
Finally, in week 3 the elusive Solen Hive tunnels were opened up, giving access to the Solen Matriarchs in Trammel and Felucca. We are told that these Matriarchs are locked in conflict with each other, and are now offering rewards to players who will kill the infiltrators, or the ants from the other side. In return, she will offer her services to those that succeed, by converting large amounts of zoogi fungus into translocation powder, as well as making the player a Friend of her Solen Hive, which has the power to stop all Solen of the Queen’s color from attacking the player.
And now it is time - week 4 is upon us! What will the final week of the scenario bring? According to one adventurer who just discovered a Solen ant tunnel while taking the road south from Yew to Skara Brae, the Queens are still giving out quests, and there might be more surprises waiting in store. It’s not too late to join in!
