Last eve the Defenders of Darkstone & Friends all assembled at the Darkstone Tavern. At first it seemed there would only be a handful of us but in all, there were 18 people who joined us on this adventure to Ilshaner. There were members from Dragons of Virtue [DoV], The Faithful [T*F], D’Hara [>D<] & Order of the Rising Blade [OrB] I hope I didn’t miss any others.

The Defenders of Darkstone & Friends make their way to the bridge near the Valor spawn.

The intrepid hunters soon found the Champion Spawn that lay in wait for them.
Tonight’s Valor inhabitants were the Ophidians & their cold-blooded compatriots.

Our group fought valiantly against the spawn, but being out in the open proved to be a tactical mistake & all were kept furiously busy healing each other…….

So, Morathi [>D<], a hunter of obvious experience, called me close & suggested we muster “our troops to the fort”…..a circle of rocks, with 4 entrances to defend. This proved to be a good plan….

Overall, I think most had a good time. It is an amazing experience to ride out on a hunt with so many other good folk. Alas, along the way, many people suffered the inevitable heal/crash problems, lag issues & communication woes but the sense of camaraderie, when we overcame each wave of the cold-blooded foe, was truly awe inspiring. Towards the later stages, healing strategies were better formed & using the “rock fort” gave us an avenue of channelling the spawn…. somewhat, anyways.

But as always, the trip home is oft fraught with danger. With 15 ppl running thru the spawn to get back to the Valor Bridge, there were a few who fell & a new battle ensued to resurrect, retrieve & retreat back to our homeland.

We certainly ended with a bang, not a whimper!!

Some of us decided to take a look at Minoc, with the misguided concept of saving the Town, but alas our trip turned into a repeat of the Valor bridge…resurrect, retrieve & retreat, with a little battling interspersed in the proceedings. But it was kinda fun too.

I will leave you with a pic of our Unofficial Champion Death Robe Collector of the eve…Archie The Honest Archer [DoD]
