From FYI....I have heard that for us this will be 1am-3am syd time...the wee small hours of Sunday Morning on the Lake Superior shard. If anyone can confirm that this time is right, plz post here
Chess Match of the Decade! Jun 25 2002 2:35PM CST (GMT -06:00)
It began with four simple words: "Stellerex I challenge thee!"
Stellerex, a producer here at Origin Systems and avid chess enthusiast, roared at the impunity of this upstart from the Lake Superior shard when he heard of this challenge! Who was this “RacerX,” that dared think he could even hope to contend against OSI’s greatest chessman? Stellerex was not one to back away from such a challenge! If RacerX wanted a game, then so shall it be!
The one who wins two out of three games will be declared the champion of the day; this chess game is for the sport of it, and neither player receives any reward, save the knowledge that he has valiantly represented his people in a thrilling game of honor.
The chess match will take place this upcoming Saturday, June 29th, 2002, at Noon CDT. It will be held on the “life-sized” chess board in Trammel’s Nujel’m, on the Lake Superior shard.
The chessboard is located a few screens southwest of the Bank of Nujel’m, at the following coordinates:
Sextant Coordinates: 23o 6'N, 169o 1'E
UOAM coordinates: X 3727, Y 1361
Although Nujel’m is accessible by ship and the Recall & Gate Travel spells, a special Moongate will be available at the Ironwood Inn of Vesper in Trammel beginning just before the first game begins and lasting throughout the entire match-this temporary Moongate will allow free transport between Vesper and the chessboard for everyone who wishes to view this spectacular event.
Please be courteous to the participants and other audience members, and do not spam text, bring pets, summon creatures, play music, or cast any spells while in the area of the chessboard. A Game Master will be on hand to oversee the event; disruption of the chess match will not be tolerated.
