Its a time for song and dance, the ritual burning of T*F members, cheap drinks and bad poetry. Yes poetry thats it! For on that day 2 years Oceania was born and so too was the Rose, and by God we survived to two. Well actually I didnt I'm off playing DAOC but its my post so you just have to bear with me ;) Anyhoo to cut to the chase its about time we had some CULTURE as many a night in days of yore I did wander by West Britain Bank and there rows of Bladrons stood all a shimmering upon their mares and crying "Give us poetry or give us death". That cry has now been heard! So... a poetry contest... THE PRIZES 1st Prize: A dirty fryingpan rare. Straight from the God-Kings kitchen for he is too lazy to do the dishes. Why anyone wants vindaloo stained crockery is beyond him but the punters swear by such stuff so what the hell. But wait.. stuck to the pan by the sauce theres also a check for 1 Million gold! 2nd Prize: Your choice of a 1st or 2nd year veteran reward donated by the lovely Grysta assisted by her perhaps not quite so lovely assistant Generator. 3rd Prize: A romantic evening with our own Elan Firewood! Yes at last you can have an Elan of your very own for a sizzling hot date! He can be lovingly smeared in baby oil beforehand if this is required. Mrs Firewood is available as an optional date should for whatever reason the thought of Elan not gird your loins and stir your heart. 4th Prize: TWO dates with Elan Firewood! Err.. there is no fourth prize. We may also have a special Judges choice award depending on entries and sucking up. Prize will be something appropriate. Suggested Themes for the special Judges Award are: 1. Birthday of Oceania/The Rose 2. How your loins do ache at the thought of Elan Firewood 3. Why RedWolf will inherit the Earth 4. Something funny about Von Ravend's foot fetish CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: 1. A panel of OtR judges will pick the winners. Judges decision will be final unless REALLY juicy bribes or secret lingerie shots of Ciba Blue are provided. OtR members may participate for fun but are not eligible for placing or prizes. 2. Entries are to be posted on this forum under this thread. Entries can be poetry, prose, limericks, haiku, long or short, serious or comical. Offensive entries may be discarded and over long ones may be unread! 3. Multiple entries are allowed if they are good. Deadline for entries is midday 29th January. Winners will be announced on this forum on the evening of the 29th January. 4. This contest is officially named "The Great Rose Oceania Birthday Poetry Give-away Contest Extravaganza!".
