As someone mentioned, a good place to look is u2sound.com, which has a good list of all the amps, effects, etc. that Edge, Bono and Adam use (and drums for Larry). There is also an e-mail list that goes with it. Go to yahoogroups.com and look up the u2sound group.

While I don't know of any specific list of songs you can check, many people on the list have a good idea for some of the songs.

though I can tell you a few of the basics for older songs .... taken from an e-mail sent to me today:

"EH MemoryMan Deluxe (or Korg SDD-1000 rack unit), Boss SD-1, MXR Dyna Comp...in that order. (all three can be found for around $200-$250 together in the used market)."

also, the Korg A3 multieffects unit is good to have. Edge used it for many songs. But it is no longer manufactured and can only be found on eBay or wherever musicians sell used gear.
