Subject: The new album/old fans

A few days ago I found out my spanish teacher liked U2, she has rattle and hum, joshua tree, and the unforgettable fire, which was obviousley the peak of U2.

So what made U2 so great in those years? Well obviousley it was alot of factors, such as better promotionals, more outgoing appearences, and the music. The sound of their music was so distinct in The Joshua Tree for the most part. Their was no sparatic sound. It was alot more organized. It was simple music. There are more people who listen to music than are music lovers. Meaning if you dont listen to alot of music you probably like the simpler music. In conclusion their are more people who buy simple music. More organic music. And back then U2 had a certain charisma to them. That rock 'n' roll charisma, which is something Kid Rock is *trying* to do, which isnt working out too well. That american band rock n roll swagger underdog charisma.

U2's music is so dark sometimes, think of "I Still havent found what Im looking for" and how much joy was in the sound of that song. The only way they'll be able to return to something like their peak days, they'd have to create good soul/joy music that remains simple sounding.

It won't be rock n roll rattle n hum style. You can forget that. Their going to mix in a little of everything, and it's all gonna have soul to it. Each song will be something special in it's own right. Im guessing two or three radio hits across the world. The grammies will be a tough competition, because alot of other rock bands are releasing stuff in 2000 or 2001. But mostly in 2001. I dont think the flow of the album will be the best. But it's going to be good regardless. Im guessing maybe a song or two will seem empty and might sound like Dancin Shoes from the MDH soundtrack.

What are your predictions? I based mine all on the information U2 has said so far.
