當耶穌在世的時候,女人到了適婚年齡,她的家人會為她預備一個玉對瓶,並在裡面裝滿極貴重的香膏.玉瓶的大小及香膏的貴重程度則視這家庭的經濟情況而定,而這裝著香膏的玉瓶便成了她的嫁妝.當一個男人向她求婚候,她就會在求婚者的腳前打破玉瓶並膏抹他的腳,這膏抹的動作表達著她對那位男士的敬重.
有一天,當耶穌在長大痳瘋的西門家裡坐席的時侯,有一個女人帶著一瓶真哪噠香膏來,她打破玉瓶,把香膏澆在耶穌的頭上.相同的故事,在路加褔音第七章則對那女人有更露骨的叙述:耶城裡有一個女人,是個罪人.她知道耶穌值得這樣的奉獻和尊崇.其實耶穌在馬太褔音二十六章13節也提到要紀念這個女人的作為.她這膏抹的動作不僅是為安葬耶穌,她也全然的把自己獻給天上的新郎.
是的,她是個罪人,但這個罪人懷著憧憬,也很有智慧地在全能者面前打破玉瓶,因為她深知惟有衪能實現她的夢想,也惟有衪才能滿足她心底裡的渴求.

你的玉瓶裡裝的是什麼?
你願意將它交給耶穌嗎?

要如何知曉自己已在耶穌腳前打破玉瓶呢?
這會反映在你是否全然順服基督的主權上,完全讓衪在你生命裡掌權.

帶著你的玉瓶,把你的身,心,靈和想都交給神.衪是你的主,必引領你喜樂地走在衪為你預備的人生道路上.
