The Twins: You feared our habitation of this body would destroy it. You may be right, in a way you did not intend.

*The Nestene are silent, calculating*

The Twins: The vast majority of our energy remains housed within the blades. His body is in no danger from our power. But we cannot control these sensations that continually wash through us, and we do not understand! Our sole drive and ambition is geared 99.3257% towards protecting Khrysania and keeping her from harm. The other .6743% is focused on maintaining Alexianthalus' body. Every time we look at her we are forced to experience this odd sensation, both pleasant and painful, that seems so overwhelming that all else fades away. We cannot focus on her defense like this. And then, there is this liquid that keeps leaking from our eyes when these sensations attack. We have analyzed it as mostly water and salt, but it is all too much to process and put into perspective.

You are an expert on these creatures. What is happening to us? How may we stop it so we may serve our purpose to Alex?

We understand.

The painful yet pleasant sensation you feel whenever you look at Khrysania is a human/elven emotion called LOVE.

Khrysania is Alex's lifemate or wife. He loves her. Love is strange emotion. It is powerful enough to guide one's actions. And yet, it can cause terrible fear that something bad may happen to the object of your love.

Khrysania is the object of Alex's deepest affections and intimacies. Before you adopted his body, his emotions were in turmoil, he almost lost Khrys in the Nightmare Realm, they discovered she was pregnant,normally an impossibility for an interspecies relationship between humans and elves, she has growing psychic powers and a slowly emerging long forgotten past.

All this has occured since they wed a mere week ago. Now Drow's overwhelming concern has been to protect Khrys - it has become almost obsessive to him. It distracted him during the battle with Death and it almost killed him. You adopted his body and, with no experience with emotions or the depth of Alex's emotions for Khrys, and have had his feelings slam into your otherwise ordered psyche.

Now you are confused. You want to protect Alex, you want to protect Khrys, but sometimes it seems your continued presence causes her no end of pain. And yet, if you left Alex would die and that would cause her even greater pain.

So your actions are confused. Your eyes leak water, which the humans call tears, usually a sign of deep sadness but sometimes a sign of great joy.

Alex is in your psyche, yes? He understands his emotions. You understand a clarity of rational thought. Perhaps you will need his counsel to handle your emotions.

We only wish it were that simple. Alex's soul is trapped between this world and the next. He is engaged in an all-encompassing battle to remain with her on this realm. Many forces pull him towards the afterlife that he is not yet ready to meet. If we should draw him from that battle for any reason, he could very well die. He turned his attention from it once, to comfort Khrysania during a private moment she shared with us, and though she doesn't know it, it took a great deal of our own energy directed inward to assist him to remain. We almost lost him. We almost destroyed his body in the process. No, we cannot keep his counsel now. Not until he is ready to return.

We have injured Khrysania. We must speak with her. Perhaps she can help us.

If counsel from Alex would endanger him then you must decipher this for yourself. Seek Khrysania's counsel, but keep your power in check. Emotions will strike you without warning, if you should lose control it could be disastrous.

When the demon RipClaw killed Sara, we almost lost our control. We almost became what we once were...almost became Shub Niggurath again in our rage.

Strive for control, Twins. Khrysania loves Alex but she is so very afraid he will not survive this. She is hurt and she is frustrated because there is nothing she can do to help Alex. This frustration will turn to anger, anger at herself and anger at you.

But you must maintain control no matter what. It will be difficult and there are no easy answers. Just stay in control.
