"A very interesting waste of such a beautiful pendant, m'lady," the man coments softly, appearing almost from nowhere behind her shoulder. He keeps his distance, observing her with keen, blue eyes. He was a man short for his age, stocky, tan-skinned and bald. A man of chinese origin, and a trainer of many arts. Those who knew this about him, however, were either dead or missing. And as his hand releases the hilt of his blade, his eyes do no leave the dragon's pendant that lay shattered on the table top. "It is a pity that it means so much to him, and yet he gives up on it so quickly...even I am not fast enough to catch the traitor. My, this is terrible. Excuse, my lady, but there is no other around to ask this, and it may seem slightly out of the blue, but may I have the permission to borrow this pendant? It is...it is something I cannot describe. It is useless now, to him. Shattered yes, but I do promise by my family's honor that I will return it to it's rightful owner in due time. May I?" His voice requests a solemn chance for trust, his kind eyes scanning her face. He moes closer to the table, a singe hand hovering above the remains of the jewel. "I do not have much time. One can only do so much to explain their actions, so please do not ask me why I require this favor. For once, trust a stranger. Please do not follow me." Without another word of explaination, the man sweeps the broken pendant up in one had, leaving no trace or bit of glass behind. And he is gone, as silently as he came. The door of the inn barely closes when the drum of soft hooves is heard, and finally gone in volume.
