Alex stood staring out of Denarius's window, trying to comprehend what he had just been asked to do.

Alex...we could really use your help. You understand that you have the right to walk away from this, but this is an opportunity you won't soon have again. I can't make you, but I can ask you again.

Alex turned towards Denarius. He hadn't expected an offer of this magnitude, and now that it was before him, he was completely overwelmed.

Denarius...if I accept this...jeez, it changes my whole life! Would the public even accept to someone like me in a position that high? I mean...jeez...

Alex shook his head. Denarius slowly made his way across the room, and took Alex's head in his old hands, lifting it up to face him.

Alex. You are a very capable leader. You know that. I know that. The public will soon know that. The other Senators know that, and have already agreed to this. It's all up to you, my boy. All up to you.

What about the other Councilors? What have they been told?

Denarius shook his head. Since the Council is still quite new, they have been told that the eighth member will be added soon. They know that each spot has been filled at different times, and they are simply awaiting the arrival of someone they have yet to meet. You shall be welcomed without question.

Alex turned once more, facing the bustling streets of Cybertron. I am one of them. I always have been one of the little people...always lived my life underneath everyone else. Even my father...

Alex's eyes darkened at the thought of his father. He had considered the man a tyrant, even in his younger days. He had seen the hate in his father's eyes when he looked at Alex...and had feared that hate. He had always expected a fate far worse than the one he had been given, and now it seemed that things were still getting better for him.

I'll do it.

Denarius clapped his hands. Excellent, my boy! Excellent, indeed! I shall message Perceptor and let him know immediately! You, my boy, you should head on over and meet the rest of the Council! You know of course, where the building is? Oh, of course you do! Oh, this is wonderful news, Alex!

He grabbed Alex's hand and shook it, pulling him towards the door. He stopped as the door opened. Alex. You will make me proud. I know you will. Now, get going! What are you waiting for! Go go go!

With that, he practically pushed Alex out the door, and into his waitin area, where Decado stood to greet him.

As the doors closed behind him, a bedazzled Alexander Byron found himself with a new identity.

Everything go okay, Alex?

Yes, Decado. I think everything turned out just fine.

Alex left Decado standing at his desk as he stepped out of the room, making his way to the Steets below.
