I can't see freedom being the responsibility of any agency that takes subscripted members. Take, for example, a simple community garden project. Members put in investments of time and resources while everyone benifits from the harvest--so to speak. What are the responsibilities of those in charge of seeing the organization of this garden function? I should say protecting the garden itself from disasters (natural ones like bugs and unnatural ones like vandalism) and protecting the gardeners from abuses (fraud concerning their part, thievery, etc.). I can't say that its the job of the Garden Organizers to ensure that its members are free. Rather, if freedom were the prime directive, then any government would be found wanting.
