Um. No, this happened at a Con, and not to me, sadly.....see, I keep telling everyone my life is too boring for LJ. The victim in question was a straight, married, middle-aged man whose wife was standing less than 15 ft away. What he got for his humor was a drag queen kneeling at his feet, staring up at him adoringly. But that was all, really.

I think the trick to escaping certain mauling during a fireworks display is to time your running with the flashes: Run while the rocket's going up, then duck behind a tree just before it explodes. Same theory as traveling by night to avoid pursuit, only lots faster.
