I think simplicity is what emerges when you go deep enough to find the Essence. But it may also emerge from resignation. "Love is hard" sounds a little like "I don't get this. I give up". But sometimes that can be a really tempting conclusion to settle for.

I probably sound a little self-righteous, as in "I try, others don't". But I do have the same warning bells in my left knee that sometimes tell me to calm down (it's just that my girlfriend quickly convinces me not to listen to them). And I would never dream of judging anyone for taking good care of their emotional well-being.

Please make me understand what "purge" means. I like that word and would like to use it some day.
