For starters, what I meant by, "love is hard" wasn't the text book definition of love; having an intense personal attachment or affection for another person, strong enthusiasm or liking, or a person to whom love is felt.

It also wasn't meant to be taken as a dismissal of the actual term either.

What I meant was, love is another four letter word for--> WORK. Thereby, it being HARD, by that definition alone.

Relationships don't run on high octane gasoline, calories, or self help books. They require a lot of compromise, patience, understanding and sometimes sacrifice. All of which sounds like work (and or love) to me.

In order for us, as human beings, to obtain some heirarchical(sp) goal; whether it be in our work, friendships, or love lives, we have to put forth an effort. If not, we get over looked, under paid, or kicked to the curb in the long run.

"Sex is easy", on the other hand, is exactly that, easy. No emotional attachments, hence, NO WORK. You don't have to be in love with a person to engage in physical acts with them (we refer to this as: the one night stand...if your lucky, it's an entire weekend).

Hell, I could appear to be Aphrodite, to some poor inebriated bastard, I picked up from the local pub and had my way with. That would be easy. Unfufilling, but easy none the less, right?

I hope this helped you with my interpretation of the infamous, "Sex is easy. Love is hard" quote. I'm sure you can add more opinions to this list. So feel free to knock yourself out, sweetie!

PS. I was thinking about starting a band called, "Binge & Purge", wanna be in it? Yea, we could play to large groups of teens with eating disorders! Gosh, I'm going to beat myself for that awful comment now. I will go to bed in shame. Wah!

*clearly I need to quit posting when I'm exhausted.
