Hey, aren't you the same one that's at my shoulder when everyone else in the room but me gets the joke? Or when I'm the last one to tune into the latest trend, or the only one that doesn't ever quite manage to see this year's most important movie? The reason I never see it when a guy actually likes me, or that I don't think to smile at that person who could have been the best friend I've ever had?

Yeah, it IS you. Fucker. If you hadn't brought yourself to my attention, I'd have just thought it was a lifetime of bad luck and missed opportunities, a series of flirtations with the never-yet-disproven Murphy's Law. Or that it was me.
