Weeeelll... I have continued it, but it sorta degenerated. Mind, I only got it to three pages (in a point 12 font, that is.) It ended up with the narrator, who I gave the name Hijiri for some reason, finding out he's immortal. The dialogue toward the end, with a nurse, is horribly forced. I probably given him brain tumor* or something.

Whee, I'm my own critic.

And yes, I liked the line about apathy as well.

*Apologies to anyone with a loved one who has died of a brain tumor.
