I have a 'scrip for Imitrex nose spray [sometimes works -- sometimes doesn't] with a 'scrip for Vicodin for backup. A real pounder is good for 2-3 days of not being able to function for me, too.

Not functioning is not an option when I have to be in Court -- and neither is calling in sick. If the Imitrex refuses to knock it out on a Court day, I am screwed for the duration. Driving on Vicodin is DWI and standing up in Court and making an argument zoned on Vike's is dumber than driving on them.

Have you tried the Imitrex nose spray? There is an element of 'trigger' to it. It drips down the back of your throat and tastes and feels exactly like a big ole snoutful of coke -- but it works in 10 minutes or less if its going to work for you.

There is a new migraine drug out called 'Maxalt.' I am going to ask for a free sample of it the next time I go to the doctor. Its not an opiate. Its the same class of drug as Imitrex [a tryptan] but is supposed to be stronger. Of course, its even more expensive than Imitrex which is expensive enough.

Hope you're feeling better by the time you read this. There's nothing worse than a migraine to screw up the whole rest of the week.

Junobear,

I get em too. Sometimes so bad I literally "kiss the porcelain king" from the pain. Vicodin I only take at home for the reasons you mentioned, don't need to drive or try to work, especially with the responsibility you have (someones future you are fighting for), thank God I don't have that kind of responsibility right now. I have tried zomig and it does not work, right now am upping water intake and resting more and see if that works.

Teegz, are you anemic, I have that and sometimes the blood count makes for some real vicious migraines. Are you on anything to help?
