Subject: Quick Panicked (off-topic) Post: A very dear friend of mine, a 12-year-old, was diagnosed with scoliosis yesterday.

I don't know much about this.. does anybody?? Savanna is a wonderful, fun, spunky, intelligent, sparkly, energetic, imaginative girl. (AND, last year she was Valedictorian of Room 22 Fifth Grade!!)

If anybody knows anything -- or has good links -- (or good prayers!) -- it would be appreciated!! --susi

Scoliosis is curvature of the spine. (I have it)
It can be a slight curve, or an extreme curve. (If it's extreme, they might want to do corrective surgery or give her a brace. If it's a slight curve, treatment isn't needed.)

My younger daughter was diagnosed with it when I notived one shoulder blade, or whatever that lump is on the back, stuck out. She was 12. As she grew, she outgrew it.

No need to panic at all. The young lady should be just fine, even if it's bad enough for surgery.
