Subject: Need some Info re: anit-depressents

Going to the Dr. today, and need some feedback regarding anti-depressents. Have gotten to the point that I do not even want to deal with anything, only want to stay in my room and read so that I don't have to cope, interact or anything, and I get so angry at times that I am really out of control. Can you let me know what medications you are taking if any for this? I am on the Pegintron 1X Week and Riba 1000 mg. a day.

Hi there. I'm on Celexa and it is working fine for me. The Serotonin re-uptake antidepressants are the ones most commonly prescribed four us heppers. They include Celexa, Paxil, Prozac and a few others. Keep in mind it takes about 3 weeks to see a difference. For me, they just help me cope better with things. I have no sides from them. Thanks for all of your feedback, and the Chicken Soup, Toosh.
Dr. gave me prescription for the Celexa 20 MG, and took a Viral Count today. Have to go to the health dept. for a Hep A shot, and he is waiting to let me know whether I am going to continue therapy. I am reacive to Hep B so I did not need that one. My husband is now really anxious and upset if I have to stop therapy he feels that I am going to immediately going to get sicker and just fade away. Of course I am too onery to do that, lots of shoes to buy etc. before I am finished here, but he is just so worried that I wish that he could just relax, too. I think that I am going to have him talk to his primary and see if he needs something to help him with the stress.
Thanks for the goods wishes and the awesome chicken soup. Went perfectly with the rest of my lunch.
Spoke to the Dr. about a Liver Biopsy, as I never had one, and he said that he wants to wait for the results of the viral count. Says that now is not a good time for it while I am on the therapy and we never did one before because I was afraid of it.

lol....always wanted to say that! curious....why did he start you on treatment if he'd never done a biopsy or a viral load?

also.....tell hubby to feel free to stop by here himself....ask questions, get some feedback. One of the better ways to put some of his fears to rest is to get as familiar with hcv as he can. You all have a terrrrrrrific weekend!! Friday nights and chicken soup always went hand in hand at my house, lol!! smooooooch.....Carol

Knew I was in trouble in but did not want to take the initial Interferon 3X a week and the Ribavirin. just never had the biopsy. My fault, I chickened out, which is not like me. Hubby will not post, but will read them. He thinks that spelling counts.

This IS your first time here, isn't it? I was on tx last year and felt exactly the same as you do - it's the drugs and not you, but it is SO hard to remember that when you're in the middle of it - and it doesn't change the way you feel either..............Lots of people have good luck with anti-depressants. I've tried most of them and i'm now on Neurontin but the docs usually start you off with the SSRI's (like Susie said). My Dr. Gave me Celexa also I have to take 2 20mg pill before I go to bed. It's helped me a great deal. Except for the Riba-rage.
