:dark steed watches intently from the shadows, gaze dancing upon the two mares....Scarlet Cin amused him, though he was not sure it was pleasing.....the mare quite obviously yeared for friendships and allies with the others, and yet did not attempt to gain it....the mares of his herd were strong, they knew their values and many would not lower themselves to welcome a newcomer....he knew that if this mare wished to ever form kinships she would have to work to gain the respect and approval of the others, for they did not hand it out....:

:Devi puzzled him, as always....her presence in the herd was not as strong as he wished, but it was there, and was appreciated....he wished to learn more of this mare, but for some reason drew back from her, her disposition as powerful as it was puzzling....:

:turns away, ebon dial shaken slowly with regret....he had yet to learn much of his mares, felt guilt for it, and yet knew it was not possible...there were too many to love, respect, guard, satisfy and nuture....those who deserved his gifts would ask for them with their actions, words, and ways....:
