Subject: "We have found him only to have lost him once more."
In reply to: Tahu 's message, ""THERE!! The Guardian!!! We have FOUND him Lewa!!"" on 12:19:49 11/23/01 Fri

The tone of his speech was far graver than Tahu had ever heard it. There was no bounce in Lewa's voice, no eagerness to rush into action, no wild hypothesis. Nothing could equal the information the pair had just read.

"Were we ever so out of touch with reality Tahu? When our people transcended, we left a part of ourselves behind, so that we might not give up tangible existence entirely. The realm was an extension of the full unified energy of our kind, flowing out from that other bright place. And yet the things that happened there, the suffering it endured! I can understand wholly our discounting Simian Omega's attempts to feed off our energy, but the Ryno's? Our physical history was drained of all energy, all life, all color. We did not feel the effects of the Rynestone Engines until the realm was all but gone? It was as though that which we immaterially concieved had truly taken on a life of its own! It may as well have been the creation of another! It was no extension...it had become independent and, though the guardian nurtured the plastorganic paradise, even he was not equal to the task. He has disappeared into a realm we cannot find! And he may well have been corrupted by another power, so like our own, and yet so...alien.

The information ends with his last entry. The trail ends at this 'LEGOcouncil'. And despite Hello My Name is Kathryn's best efforts, this Starbase's charts are woefully incomplete. It as as though this 'LEGOcore' is gone as well. But we will not give up; there is a link to another database, one independently maintained. We have learned much, most painfully the inadequacy of ourselves and our chosen one. To think there were those among us who looked down upon the nomad, the one who rejcted our existence so that his energy form might yet roam the SPUniverse, devoid of the forms we have adopted. He chose the guardian, and we always considered his actions contrary to faith in the chosen's ability to handle things alone. But he knew when the realm was in peril when we did not, when we SHOULD have. More painfully we did not feel the passing of one of our own!! Transcendence and omnipotence were not the intertwined concepts our philosophers anticipated. Or perhaps, we elevated to far up the evolutionary ladder to care anymore. When and if we regain the whole, I think that will change.

The Toa are in your debt, woman. We thank you."

Tahu barely grunted a 'goodbye' as he pursued Lewa, already racing out!
