As the first official Journey-whore * back off Margot said I could be first*, I would like to put forth a motion where once at least a month we have a Margot appreciation day or thread as the case may be.
We few, we happy few (can you tell I've been studying my Shakespeare? I hope to God my professors will) bitch, moan, plead, beg, whine and generally debase ourselves for a morsel of Margot's delicious slices of decadence that she serves up to us from time to time, but I don't think that we just thank her often enought.
Oh I know, we say she's fabulous... that's an understatment anyway, and we all know we're dying for any offering she's willing to drop to us, but I don't think any of us fully appreciate just how much it takes to write such 'fabulous' stuff.
So, therefore (I know now that you can tell I'm a Politics student due to my propensity to babble...and I know that's putting it kindly), I propose, a day -a thread- where we just mention our favourite stories, lines, situations, pairings... well you get my drift, that Margot has given us. We don't beg her to know when the next chapter of Journey will be arriving. We don't harrass, we don't harangue, we just give thanks. Thanksgiving without the turkey, the pilgrims, the Chumash Warriors, or any of the negative political or social connotations it now brings up.
So Margot, from me (and I know that's terrible grammar) thanks you for the hours you put in, thank you for you intricate plot lines, thank you for helping us to keep believing in B/A when it's so easy to give up, thank you for the fact you give us literature, and last but definitely not least thank you for the monitor-melting smut, the window-shaking chemistry, and the perpetuation of the myth and legend we all so loved and continue to love despite all corporate attempts to stop us.
Now, I'll step of my soapbox (sorry it was an apple box, my regular soap box was already being used) and put down my violin and invite you all to return to your regular scheduled programming
PS
My favourite Margot-epic is Journey (who-da thunk it, what with the badge and all), but my favourite stand alone is Sensual Sensitivity. I read it in my lecture and I had a very hard time explaining to my professor exactly why I was laughing so hard at Smokey Mountain. Thank God I can bullsh**t when necessary.
