±having finished her exploration for the moment, gaze saught her granddam, wishing to inquire something about the plains that had just occured to her. Upon not seeing the elder, she followed her nose to a fresh trail, seeing the form of the mare laying on the grasses. Her nares picked up a scent that was new to her; one she had never encountered before, but one she knew by instinct. Death. She stopped, raven form frozen in her tracks. Tiny droplets spill down her cheeks, not daring to move closer. She did not want to see... Couldn't see... Verano couldn't be gone. Visage turns, sobing quietly before taking off in the direction of the sunflower field, rushing blindly through the stalks and not caring how many she bent and snapped as her weight raced through them. She fell, not bothering to rise again and sobbed quietly, tucking herself into a ball. Her tears stained the loam a dark hue, eyes stinging from the salt mixture they produced. Gaze moves to the sky, vocal wavering. W-why? Why had they taken her granddam away? Why did she have to die?±
