TROOPS!!!!!!

DRILL
Drill August 18th at 9am until noon at Farmers Branch Historical Park (972.406.0184 2540 Farmers Branch Lane Farmers Branch, Texas 75234). Wear what you will wear to Vicksburg, Army of Tennessee CSA.

MUSTER
Right now the best opportunity for Muster is to piggy-back on the event in Waxahachie on Saturday September 22. I have talked with the coordinator for this event and he has 50 guys so far and four cannon. Mostly CSA people associated with Joe Nathan out of Hillsboro. They have asked the First US to be federal, but have no commitment from them yet. This could be a good drill, event, and recruiting opportunity for the 9th. We might need to bring Blue just in case to make some sort of good reenactment. They have an all-day school day Friday, and the event and other activities Saturday. We would get in free for every speaker we wanted to listen too. We would need to start around 7 to 8am. Wear what you will wear to Vicksburg, Army of Tennessee CSA, plus bring Federal. We would need to bring light-marching order with flys, shelter halves, and dogs. Set up living history display. We can cook breakfast and lunch. It would last from 7am to before five pm. There will be plenty of time to talk, drill, and recruit. And it’s in the shade.

Dennis has highly recommended that you attend at least one of these events before you go to Vicksburg.

Below is the link to the website. It is just off of 35 in Waxahachie. We would need to get there about 7 to 8 am to beat the crowds he is expecting. The town is very heavily advertising this event.
