Subject: Texas Rifles Civilian Event

Good Folks of the Red River Battalion, As you might or might not know we folk of the Texas Rifles are a fun loving group. We host tactical s and also do a fine civilian event. Our next civilian event is going to be the second week of October (the weekend of the 12th). It will be held at Pioneer Farms in Austin (google them for more information and pictures). This weekend is geared towards civilian events however we will be forming the "Sprinkle Corner United Militia"...(use the initials folks).. for our semi-annual drill. IF you have no civilian type duds you are quite welcome to join us in the militia. Feel free to bring any period weapon as long as it is safe. We are allowed to shoot there..but again safely. There are modern facilities for the folks and lots of areas to camp or sleep indoors if you desire. You can expect civilian type things as period children s games as well contests for canning cooking. A few ladies do period quilting and sewing. While all this is going on visitors to Pioneer farms tour the various farms. These are period farms complete with livestock etc. We also have a rural mail delivery system for mail and packages if you so desire. We have both scripted and unscripted events through out the weekend. We will arrive Friday afternoon and break camp mid Sunday morning. Again we have great fun as well as doing living histories for the general public. Maybe you have heard of the Davis/Bylar Families within the Texas Rifles? There is a nasty rumor about they might attend? Please feel free to contact me at my email for further information....Dusty Lind
