Hello everyone,

I got a 800CT by some coincidence. When I got it, the installed Win98 would not start up. So I started it from the floppy disk. No problem. I formatted the hard disk and it worked. Then I made scan disk and it showed me one "Bad Cluster" but apart from that everything worked just fine. I went to sleep.

The very next day the thing was not the same. When trying to start, it displays the RAM settings and shows a line that I can start the system configuration program with F2, just after that it shows a line

configuration of [Bridge Controller]

it beeps for about half a minute or so, after that it starts up but sloooooowly.... it will take probably 10 minutes until it has finally started up DOS from the floppy.

What went wrong? Is there anything more damaged than the one bad cluster of the hard disk?

regards
Thomas
