In reply to: Miles 's message, "MAD internal mouse" on 03:45:18 02/08/02 Fri

being a hardware hacker ive taken apart pretty much every aspect of my omnibook 800ct, the mouse is definatly one of a kind, and i spent about 2 hours figuring out how the damn thing worked, anyway, i think the problem would be that the contacts on the membrane (inside the case underthe motherboard in the upper left) perhaps are dirty or sticking? also make sure the "stick" on the mouse is clean, its got thin metalic strips 'implanted' in it which connect with a double sided membrane inside that detects mouse movement and all that.. if its sticking or just dirty that could be your problem (or perhaps it even got misaligned?) eh well youll need a size 6 torx screw driver if you dont have one i would go to ( www.ebay.com ) seeing as they are usually less than 4 bucks on there.. if your leery with hardware and dont want to risk it, i would eather get a friend to do it, or HP support (but that would cost a shit load) or you could always just send it to me for parts = ) hehe.
