::The mare, a mere shadow in the fading daylight, observes the equines from her perch on a knoll. Heart heavy, noble refined head is lowered to graze absentmindedly, deep wise oculars still on the mares. She has known anger, fear, and pain before, but this feeling is new to her: loneliness. The need to be with others of her kind, when these so obviously reject her. Wary of the horses, but at ease with her surroundings, she remains standing as daylight drains out of the sky and is replaced by the moon. Keeping up her constant vigil on the animals below from her hilly vantage point seems more natural now than going down to join them.::
