I cross-tied Sparkle and quickly brushed and tacked her up. She pranced toward the arena as I led her along. When we got to the arena I walked her over to the mounting block. I led her beside it and she stood still while I mounted. I mounted up and walked her around. The elegant Trakhener arched her neck and walked around the arena. I pushed my heels down and lowered my hands. I got ready to urge her into a trot. She trotted obediantly. I posted softly to her easy smooth strides. We extended and collected at a trot and then after 4 laps at a trot I asked her for a slow canter. She cantered, a nice smooth canter as we made some large circles and weaved some poles just for fun. After a couple minutes of cantering, I walked her toward our jumping course.I aimed her toward a small 2' oxer. She popped right over it. Then cantered on toward a tall 4' 9" liverpool. She soared over that one as well. Then cantered toward a chicken coop. Clear over that one. Then I trotted up a small slope. She popped over a small jump at the top of the slope. Then trotted slowly down the other side of the slope. Two canter strides off the hill we came upon a big jump that Dylan and I made out of branches. It was 4' 9" also. As big as it was Sparkle soared over it. Next was a bounce, brightly painted in blue, purple, lime green, and yellow. Sparkle soared over the first jump took maybe half a stride and popped over the 2nd part of the bounce. Then she cantered toward the last jump a huge liverpool then 1 stride away a tall oxer with no air underneath it. It was made to challenge the horse. Sparkle cnatered over both jumps bravely. I pulled her efficiently and gently down too a trot then a walk. I walked her back to the barn and took off her tack. I put on her halter. I led her to the wash stall and gave her a long warm bath, wich she enjoyed very much. Then I took her to her paddock and turned her out for the remainder of the day. I walked back up to the barn and went to tack up Sunset. I had her tacked up and ready to go in minutes. I mounted the palamino and led her to to the same course I had just been on with Sparkle. I trotted her to warm her up then quickly lowered all the jumps to either 3' 6" or 4'. I cantered her toward the first liverpool, skipping the little 2' warm up jump, she hesitated but cleanly jumped over it. Then onto the chicken coop. She soared over that and landed gently on the other side.I trotted her up the slope and popped over the little jump at the top of the hill. Then trotted down the other side. 2 canter strides off the hill we cantered over the branch jump. Next we hit the bounce. Sunset cantered toward it and popped over it effortlessly. Then to the second part of the bounce, she soared over it. Instead of the liverpool we headed toward a 4' triple. Over the first part: effortlessly. The second part: a little hesitant. The third part: came down with a rail. I pulled her down to a walk and patted her on the neck. I cooled her out on our way back up to the barn and dismounted as soon as we got their. I untacked her and gave her a bath. I put her out with Sparkle and watched as the two mares ran along side each other, then played tag as if they were foals. I walked back up to the barn and cleaned out the stalls. Then I cleaned the dirty bridles. When they were done being cleaned I hung them up neatly. Then cleaned the saddles. I put those on their racks and sweeped the barn aisle. Then I walked back up to the house to get some lunch for my family. When I got inside I saw Dylan and Camryn sitting on the floor playing. I smiled and walked past them to the kitchen.
