I stood outside his stall, waiting for him to approach me “Hi boy” I said, as he began to nuzzle me. I have him a pat and slipped inside. I gave him a good groom all over, and even though I did not need to pick his hooves, I made him raise his legs. I figured that anything I could get him used to at this early age, would make him a better and easier horse to train as he grew. He was already growing curious at almost everything, and loved to stretch his neck so he could see what was going on around the barn. His sweet personality was already appearing, obviously taking it after his mother. He had grown so much for his mere 3 months of life, his body seemed to be leaving his head behind. It still remained the beautiful foals head he had had since birth but everyday his legs would grow stronger and his body would fill out. I clipped on a lead rope to both him and his mother, and lead them both (Dream preferred to walk on a lead rope when with his mother, though he was well behaved without her) to their regular paddock. As we moved through the yard of Castlereagh stables and past the outdoor arena, he constantly gazed around him, interested on what was going on. He had an inquisitive nature, but loved nothing more than frolicking and galloping around the paddock with his mother and the other horses. Sure enough, as soon as I closed the gate, he was off! Bucking and running around the paddock, after about 5 mins or so… he sauntered up to his mother and began to graze. I headed back into the barns to work my other horses.
