I groomed my TB stallion and led him to the saddling area of Castlereagh stables, where I saddled him. I then mounted and walked him to the indoor arena’s dressage ring. I warmed him up then began the training. After 5 mins, I squeezed my legs gently against his sides and he sprung into a neat and tidy working trot. I posted to this for a while, then collected him into a collected trot. He worked quite well, not fighting the short reins at all. I lengthened his stride to an extended trot without a change in beat or rhythm. I performed a few figures with him and then gave him the command to canter. I moved gracefully and I sat deep into the saddle. I asked him to do some flying changes, at first every 5 strides then every stride. He also did this quite smoothly. I slowed him down to a trot again and worked on half halts and did some leg yielding. I was quite pleased with his performance so after I cooled him down, I gave him a treat, lots of praise and turned him out for the rest of the day.
