Lana tacked up Sunset, in a western saddle and trail riding gear. She put on some chaps over her pants and mounted the palamino. They walked toward the trails behind Lana's house. Lana completely relaxed in the saddle. She just let her hands move with the mares head barely steering her. A little while later they cam to where the footing was alot more even. Lana squeezed lightly and took up a little more rein as the mare started to trot. She post to Sunset's stride but soon could just sit to it. They stopped at a little creek and Lana hopped off to stretch her legs and give Sunset a drink. 20 minutes later Lana was mounted back up again and hand galloping the mare through a field. She stood in her big leather western stirrups and the mare slowed to a trot, then a walk. They circled back around and came to a little cross- country field. She was riding western, but who said she couldn't jump anyway? She urged the mare back to a canter and they soared over all 6 jumps. Sunset threw up her head and whinnied after they landed the last jump. Lana laughed and calmed the mare back down after she gave a little buck. They finished the looped trail and Lana took Sunset back to the barn. Lana untacked her and put her tack away. Then she groomed her. She put the grooming bucket away and then put Sunset in her paddock.
