Subject: Riding Scarad Amulet Author: Jennifer [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 16:05:44 12/09/02 Mon I walked down to the arena, where Ashley was holding Sacrad Amulet and fixing up her mane. I took the reigns and watched as Ash walked back to the chairs at the side of the arena. Slowly, Ami let me mount her and we walked around the arena several times. She seemed to bob her head more in every lap, so I let her go into a steady, and quick trot. Ami trotted along, with a nice swift beat, and I posted in the saddle, keeping the beat just like Amulet did. Then, after a couple of minutes went by, I let my posting trot drop, and I was bouncing along in the saddle with Ami's trot. Also known as a sitting trot. Ami was breathing heavier soon, so I let her walk again. After Ami caught her breath again, I urged her into a canter. Of coarse, Ami was going very swift and concetrated well on what she was doing. I got tired of bouncing along the rail after awhile, and I halted Ami in place. She stood still, and I trotted her over some 3' and 4' jumps. I worked a little on dresage with her, and then walked again before dismounting. I untacked Ami, and gave her a treat for behaving well.
