Lana smiled as she swung into the resently polished jumping saddle. Then grey mare shifted under Lana's weight, as the blonde woman shifted into the right postition. She gathered the reins in her gloved hands and squeezed lightly. Silver Sparkle, the mare she was riding threw up her head and whinnied as she began to walk. Lana sat up tall and pushed her heels down. After a couple laps at a walk Lana cued Sparkle to trot. Lana posted softly to Sparkle's strides. After 2 times around the arena and some big circles Lana urged the mare into a canter. Lana sat as deep as she could absorbing the shock with her seat. Then she popped the mare over some small 2' 6" verticals. Lana slowed the mare down figuring that was a good enough warm up. She did some bending exersizes. Then she urged the mare into a canter as she aimed her toward the 3' 9" course. She mare popped over the first oxer as if it were nothing and gamely cantered on toward the a little bit more risky triple. Still the mare leaped over it as if it were nothing. Next they cantered on to a liverpool. Sparkle tucked up her legs and pushed of with her haunches. Lana went into two-point, giving the mare more rein. Sparkle landed and Lana guided her through the rest of the 3' 9" course. After the last jump, a bounce, Lana pulled the mare to a walk, then a trot giving her alot of free rein. Lana pulled her back to a walk and cooled her out on the way up to the barn. Lana dismounted at the batn entrance and put the mare away. She walked into the barn office and saw Camryn sitting on one of the chairs. "Hey Cam, whats wrong." She said as she saw the girls sollen face. Camryn looked up a sad, tear stained face. "Oh, mommy, Rose dumped me today, It wasn't my fault, I just pulled back on the reins to get her to stop then she reared and I fell off, I guess I might have pulled a little to hard," she sobbed. Lana set the little girl in her lap and. ''Honey, it's ok, It doesn't mean your a bad rider, it was just an accident. We all amke accidents, even me," she smiled. " Why don't we go work on halting and then after a little while we will go get some icecream, just the two of us. What do ya say?" A little grin broke out her daughters face. She nodded and pranced off to the tackroom.15 minutes later they had Rose tacked up and Camryn mounted. For a half an hour Lana and Camryn worked on halting getting Sunset out too. "Well that was so much better, why don't we untack our mighty steeds and head over to Icecream Castle." Lana laughed as she helped the girl put her horse away. 45 minutes later the 2 were seated in a booth at Icecream Castle. A waiter came up. "How may I take your order this fine afternoon," the waiter, their favorite, Andrea asked. "Well, I would like one scoop of mint chocolate chip, one scoop of cookie dough, with hot fudge and M and M's." said Lana. "And you miss," the waiter said turning too Camryn. She looked at her Mom. "Whatever you want honey," Lana said. "Ok, I would like one scoop of chocolate, one scoop of vanilla," she looked at her menu. "With peppermint sauce, little pieces of peppermint and chocolate chips." Camryn finished. "Ok," said the waiter. She turned around and walked back to the counter. 10 minutes later they each had their sundaes and were digging in. When they got home Camryn went back and groomed Rose while Lana decided to train Patience.

Lana led the filly out of her stall and groomed her softly. She led her toward the trailer wich she had hooked up. She had padded it down and it was as if they were actually going some where. She let her sniff around near it and led her slowly inside. She whinnied and pulled back slightly bit I held on and led her inside. I tied her up and shr really didn't mind. She nibbled at the hay and sniffed around but didn't seem to mind.I backed her down the ramp and led her back to her stall. I gave her a treat, groomed her and put her away. Then I went to get Honor. I groomed and tacked up the magnificent bay filly. I mounted her and trotted her to the track. I trotted her around a couple of times and then moved her into a nice steady canter. After 1 lap at that. I turned her toward the inside rail. I was taking her for a 1 mile gallop. I asked her for a gallop and the steady filly shot off. I slowed her down to a slow gallop. I pumped my arms rocking above the saddle. The pretty filly snorted. She kept galloping gamely. For the last half mile I decided to breeze her. I asked her to go all the way out. All of a sudden her left shoulder fell and I walloped over her head, landing har on the dirt. I spit out some dirt. I got up and examined myself really quick. Fine. I ran toward the limping filly and picked up her reins. I check her leg feeling down. Her leg, broken. I led her back up to the barn, called the vet, and untacked her. I hosed off her leg. 45 minutes later the vet left. I was very disappointed. Then filly could not be raced any more. Her leg would get better, but the vet said I ought to turn her into a broodmare. I was very dissapointed. I put her in her stall after hosing of her leg. I stalked back up to the house. I was very dissapointed. I talked it over with Dylan and we decided to maybe breed her next year.
