I swung into the black leather dressage saddle & sat down.Miss
Demeanor fidgeted underneath me.I pushed my heels down & sat back in the saddle, keeping my shoulders straight & up.I picked up my reins & lightly squeezed Miss D. so she would walk.The cue was almost invisble.The bay Dutch Warmblood was very excited to be out, & was side-stepping & prancing around, completely not in dressage form.I sponged the reins, & got her to come onto the bit.Miss Demeanor was moving beautifully, with her neck arched.I walked her another lap, & lightly squeezed her into a trot.Miss Demeanor went into a elegant, controlled working trot.I sat to the smooth movement of her trot.I trotted Miss Demeanor around for a while, & then collected her trot.Miss Demeanor had great collection, and her trot was perfect & smooth.I trotted her another lap, then brought my leg behind the girth & lightly squeezed.Miss D. instantly went into a long, extended trot.Keeping her legs straight without much hock movement.She looked & moved perfectly.Then I with my led behind the grith(slightly) again, I cued her to canter.Miss D. did a perfect transition & went into a beautiful canter.I let her canter for a few laps & then collected her canter.Next, I did some half-passes with her(also called appuyements)
