Jade,

How old is Braveheart now anyways? The youngest you can breed a mare at on FC is 5 years old.I know of a 6 y/o stallion that started doing 5 foot grand prix jumping. It was a very expensive olympic winning Holsteiner stallion named Corrado. He has won in the olympics before.(but that is for stallions, with a mare or gelding, the training should be more slow, start with the 2 foot hunters, once you have the horse doing like the 3 foot hunters, start with the 2 foot jumpers, then you work your way up from there.(This is the training for a jumper)Hey Jade, if you don't mind, I really wouldn't mind helping you train Braveheart.Heck! I'll do it for free! Also, about Braveheart, she has potential for like 6 foot jumping! Her sire, Calypso jumps 6 foot fences, & she is one awesome foal of his, so she should be able to jump big fences. Her twin brother, Corrado, is definetly going to jump 6 feet once he is old enough, & is an olympic prospect.& Susan is right about the small jumps if she is only 4 or 5.She should be doing like 1'-6" crossrails right now.Work you way up with her 3 inches each time for jumping height. So once she is good at the 1'-6" crossrails, skip the 1'-9" jumps & go to the 2 foot hunter courses.work you way up by 3 inches.2'-3", 2'-6", 2-9" 3" hunter courses, then do 2", 2-6" so on & so on for jumper courses until the horse reaches the max. height they are good at jumping. In other words, if the horse you are riding is an excellent 3'-6" jumper, but your pushing your horse past its limit by jumping it over 4'-6" courses, that isn't good, & it means your horse will have trouble getting over the jumps at that height, & will probably knock a lot of rails or refuse the jump.Braveheart has potential to do 6 foot jumping, put don't push her past that, because Braveheart is not a puissance jumper.(puissance is NOT an olympic sport!)Sorry if it sounds like I'm lecturing you, I'm just giving you some training tips, thats all.Anyways, I'm going to post a ride with Braveheart now, so, TTYL!
