I walked into the aisle with Callie right behind me. I cross-tied her and went to get a grooming kit and her tack.I groomed her and then brushed out her mane and tail. Then I tacked her up. I took off her halter and quickly put on her bridle. I led her to the jump course we had spread our over 1 mile , where their were some 3 foot jumps. I raised a couple to 3' 6". Then I mounted. I walked her around the arena getting used to her stride and figuring out how much rein I needed to use on her. After 5 minutes I cued her to trot. Her trot was long and smooth and I didn't need to post. I trotted her in some figure eights and circle and then cantered her toward the first jump. She soared over it. Then we made a sharp left turn toward a bounce. She soared over both and canter on gamely to a big yellow and black oxer. She popped over it. The next was we had to spin almost around in the air and land at the jump. She did that smoothly and popped over the liverpool. Next we cantered up a hill and went on to a small 2 foot jump. She trotted down the hill and one stride off the hill we hit a big oxer, soared over that one. We cantered toward the 2nd to last jump a 4 foot oxer. She cleared that but had to take a big leap and almost nocked down a rail. The next one was a 4 foot drop, two strides and a liverpool. She jumped the drop and landed just fine she took 2 strides and leaped over the jump. I patted her on her neck and I cooled her out at a walk. 10 minutes later I led her back to the barn and untacked her. I gave her a bath and led her out into the field after she dried with a blanket. I let her off and watched as the pretty mare galloped around the field, kicking up her heels. I went to turn out my two foals and Courage then I went up to the barn to look for a pony for my daughter Lana.
