I pulled up into the driveway & parked my big silver truck that was pulling a navy blue 4-horse trailer that had the logo of Timeless Farm in burgandy on it side.I saw that there weren't any cars there so my family must have still been @ the dog park with the families dogs.I hopped out of my truck and slammed the door shut.walking around to the back of the trailer, I thought to myself, won't my family be suprised to find another horse.I know I probably have to many horses, but I couldn't resist Mink & I needed a Holsteiner broodmare.I opened the trailer door, and saw my new broodmare, Mink, a 17.1 hand, light grey 14 y/o Holsteiner mare.I had decided to snatch her up when I saw her papers.Mink's sire, Somewhere Out There.Mink's sire had won a silver medal in the olympics twice! her dam, Time Fly's was a big-time grand prix jumper.Mink herself has been a big-time grand prix jumper until she fractured her cannon bone at the age of 12 1/2 and wasn't able to do high jumps anymore.From what Mink's old owners had told me, they had tried to do some low jumping with her, but Mink got bored with it & didn't like jumping so low, so they just did dressage with her & had used her as a broodmare.Mink had 2 foals & did 2nd level dressage.I knew Mink was still pretty young to retire from dressage, but I had decided to use her as a broodmare.Maybe if Ari or Jasmine wanted to do dressage on a experienced warmblood, I might let one of them ride her, but she was mainly going to be used as a broodmare.Mink looked up at me from eating her hay at me.She was wearing hunter plaid traveling boots, a matching blanket, a navy blue tail wrap & a leather head bumper along with a leather halter with white "fuzzies" on it to prevent Mink's face from getting scratched open or bumped.I untied Minks lead rope from the ring it was hooked to a led her slowly out of the trailer.Mink stepped out of the trailer & looked around at her surroundings.The mares barn was a little ways away from the trailer, that had white painted boards on it.There were flower pots around the door to the stable.White plastic fencing kept the grazing horses in there pastures.The grass was lush and green & there were lotsof leafy, healty trees around.A horse whinnied to Mink from the pasture.I looked mre closely & saw that it was a bay horse.The Winning Touch was the stallions name.I tugged on Minks lead rope & led her to her stall inside the barn.I walked Mink down the barn aisle to her new stall.It was made out of pine wood stained to a darker shade.The stall bars were made out of black painted metal.There was pleanty of pine shaving bedding in the stall along with 2 flakes of hay, 2 water buckets, a feed bucket & a salt lick.I opned the stall door and led Mink into her stall.I took of Minks traveling halter and shut the stall door.Mink started pacing around her stall sniffing everything.After a little while, she settled down & started eating some hay.I walked to the tack room and got a double stitched,brown leather halter with golden colored buckles.I grabbed that, a pair of black boots, a bottle of flyspray, a black flymask & a blue & burgandy colored leadrope.I headed back to Mink's stall and hung all of that stuff on thestall chain attached to the front of Mink's stall door.Then I decided to leave Mink alone & went outside.I walked over to The Winning Touch's paddock.I opned the gate & let myself in.Touch trotted over to me.I got a carrot out of my pocket and fed it to him."I wonder," I said to Touch, "how would you like to have a little foal boy?" Touch whuffled my hair and I giggled at the tickleish feeling.I patted Touch on the neck and fed him another carrot...
