I walked down to the barn and brought in the horses who had been outside all night. Only peaches had been inside at night. i groomed all the mud off of Courage and tacked him up. I led him out to the ring and set up a line of trotting poles. I Then put standards out next to the last pole. I mounted Courage and warmed him up on the flat. We worked on some flying lead changes. He still didn't get all of the changes I asked for but it was ok because he's still learning. I walked him over the line of poles and throught the standards. He wasn't sure what to make of them. Then we trotted over the line of poles. Courage was going to be a fantastic Hunter or Jumper and the best part was he is all mine! I gave him a pat and let him walk a min. I then moved the standards and the last pole back so that there was room for 1 stride after trotting over the 2nd to last pole. I then trotted down the line and asked for the canter after he stepped over the last pole. He cantered a stride and Jumped 2 ft in the air over the pole. We landed on the wrong lead. I asked for a flying lead change but he did a simple change. I gave him a pat anyway and did the line again. Slowly he go used to cantering over the pole. Finally, the last time we landed on the wrong lead and he did do a flying lead change to change the lead. I was so proud of him. I cooled him out and then dismounted.I untacked him and gave him a treat."Your such a good boy." I told him. He looked at me like ,"I know." I put him in his stall and got out CC. "your daddy was good little girl. Are you going to take after your dad today?" I asked her as I groomed all the mud off her too. I tacked her up and led her out to the ring were I mounted. We walked and trotted and then cantered. I worked on teaching her to trot over a pole. The first time she jumped over it but she slowly calmed down and started to trot over it. I gave her a pat and decided to end on that note. I cooled her out and then dismounted. I took her into the barn and untacked her. I gave her a treat and put her in her stall. I groomed my other horses I didn't ride and then fed them. I watered them and did their stalls. Then Holly and Emily came down to the barn with the dogs... continued on the Kids Riding Board
