Personally, if they're not too tech-smart, that's what I would do. I don't know of any exploints on Yahoo, but I'm sure that the ones that are discovered are patched very quickly. Big-name email companies are very security-minded. It should be possible to use a dictionary or brute force attack, but there stands a greater chance of getting in trouble. To answer your question as specifically as I care to be, I was suspended from my ISP (my university) and almost expelled. I don't dabble in cracking much anymore, which is why I could only pass along the tutorial (which also lists some of the better crackers).
