well a lot of people have the wrong idea about telnet. It can be used to hack a server, but all it really does is just get you connected. Most likely on a guest account, and you then use that free guest account to do the rest of your hacking, which has very little to do with telnet. Telnet is really only used to get your foot in the door, after that you got to have some idea on how to get the admin account or root. Like plebius said brute force is one way and there are a lot of other ways too.

So all telnet does is really get you connected after that your one your own. It also gives you a limited shell. When you hack you dont just do some stuff and get root. Most of the time you first connect on a guest account then you find a way to get a limited user account and you then slowly work your way up to root or admin account.

trust me if hacking was as easy as running telnet and typing hack server everyone would be doing it and no one would be using subseven.
