Yea, i have a binder program that has icq notify right in it. so if you dont want to send someone a actual trojan you can just use this program to bind a small file or something to nothing and send it to them, when the come online you will get the ip.

Also black ice firewall works as a great port sniffer, you just set the security level to the highest. Like if i wanted to get a ip from a aim user. I just start talking to them and press make direct connection and even if they deny my request i still get there ip. Just from the ip in the packet coming from there comp saying request denyed. I can do the same on icq as well.

The key to getting ips is a good understanding of TCP/IP protocal. And there is a lot to that protocal too. That protocal also helps with hacking big time as well.
