Subject: Point Blank FM music

I'd just like to say a massive thank you to all the Point Blank FM crew for giving us a truly professional pirate station each and every weekend. I know from experience that it takes lots of work to keep a station like Point Blank on air every weekend with a full complement of DJs. I have however noticed that during the day there's quite a bit of commercial music (Kiss FM daytime style) being played on PB which in my opinion doesn't cater for the majority of pirate listeners who want to hear anything but commercial music. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand hearing pirate after pirate playing UK garage 24-7 and prefer Point Blank for your ecclectic mix of dance music but I think it would be sad to see a great station like yours go the same way that Kiss FM has over the past 10 years. Thanks... and Keep It Underground in 2002!!

What show are you talking about??

Of course we want it to stay underground but it is sometimes hard to stay away from 'Kiss Fm' playlists as they may be playing something that the boys have just picked up and they will want to cane it as much as Kiss.

But I do understand what you are saying.....

Management.
Have a nice Christmas & New Year!

Nice to hear you like the station but I don't quite agree with your comments about the music. The importance lies in the quality of the music not in how "underground" it sounds. I don't mean sell out and go the way of KissFM, just to play music from the heart. I agree we should stay a dance music station which still covers a vast range of good quality music, past and present. Just let the DJ's educate, you never no, even you might find yourself realising new dimensions in music. I know I have by listening to Point Blank DJ's over the years. In short, Don't stop the airplay! Respect goes out to all at Point Blank FM !
Keep it real !!!

Here, here !

I posted similar views to yourself in the DX Radio forums!

I will copy and paste them here - there has not been one single person slagging off PBFM except for one pratt who probably lives in Essex and can't even receive it (he needs to try PBFM's streaming Internet audio facility)

I have been listening to PBFM ever since they were on 96.1 (?) - I will continue listening to them as long as they stick around !

Other pirate stations should learn !

Enough of the UK Garage menace - a few stations are enough to cover all areas of London. Let's have more diversity.
