Only members of the SQN who were on posted strength at the time of the award are entitled to wear the award on a full time basis, as are the other 2 citations awarded during the Vietnam War, which are the Republic of Vietnam Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross with Palm), and the United States Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valour Device. This makes 2SQN the most highly decorated Unit in the Australin Defence Force. The SQN was disbanded and reformed. Members are only entitled to wear ALL three citation's while on posted strength. A copy of the PUC and the other Citaions should be available from either the RAAF Historical Section,or Honours and Awards (RAAF) Department of Defence Canberra.
